One Year

When we visited our friends Travis and Paula one year ago this past weekend, we did not know we would be coming home with a puppy. We had been looking in all the local shelters, but this cute little puppy just fell into our laps. Two hours into the drive, we decided on the name Duke.

One year later, he's only destroyed one high heel, one pair of flip flops, one pair of capris, and one door frame. Compared to other stories I've heard, he's doing alright!

Not really here.

I'm over here today, talking some more about how I LOST MY DOG.

I have such guilt. I'm not sure I'm cut out to be a parent. I will probably cry all the time and then my husband will leave me and I will have to get another job to support me and my children and my dog, and I won't have time to spend with them and they'll grow up to break the law and give me grandkids when I'm 50 and I'll spend mother's day visiting them in jail.

I have PMS, in case you can't tell. Bye.

Crazy Dog

I have so much I want to say, but the words are not there.

I am currently enjoying an episode of the Duggars and missing the days of innocence. The Natalie 7 years ago would have really gotten along with those girls.

In other news, Aaron rode his motorcycle to work today and informed me before he left that I needed to close the gate before letting the dog out. I rolled over and tried to get some more sleep before getting up, letting Duke out, and getting in the shower. And guess what I forgot to do. Cause I suck at life. Of course, I didn't realize this until 20 minutes later, when I called him in and he wasn't coming. It was then that I remembered I was supposed to shut the gate. I looked in the front yard, hopeful that he hadn't wondered far, but he wasn't there. So I threw on the only clothes I could find, assuming my neighbors did not want to see me running around in my robe, and drove around the neighborhood in every direction possible.

After 20 minutes of searching, I drove back by the house and was overjoyed when I saw Duke in the front yard, looking at me like I had forgotten to take him wherever I was going!

Now he's scratching me and jumping on me and I want to lock him in his cage because he's being so bad. But I'm really thankful that he came home, cause I would've missed the little guy.

Agh. I am so boring this week.

New week.

I had a very long post typed about the wonderful time I had at the surprise baby shower for CrookedEyebrow last night, but apparently blogger didn't like it. Time for bed now, so hopefully will have time to re-write tomorrow.
Guess who's being a good boy and hasn't eaten any shoes lately?

My pretty boy, Duke.

My Dog is having a Birthday

I know you're not going to be 1 (or 7, as it may be) until Tuesday, Duke, but Happy Birthday. To celebrate your special day, Mommy will go to Starbucks and get you a cup of whipped cream. YUM!

(This is what happens when you don't have kids. You celebrate the birthdays for your "other" children. Ha!)
